Hi MCP members!

You may or may not have heard of Wealthy Affiliate before, but I thought I'd share it for those who may be interested.

It is essentially an online training program for people who are interested in learning Affiliate Marketing, and would like to turn it into an online business.

They provide you with many tools to help you get started online, and one of the best things is that it's FREE to join.

You're probably thinking...what's the catch? Well, there isn't one really.

There is an option to upgrade, so of course, you're not going to get all the features in the free membership. However, I believe you get a lot of information to get you started and to allow you to decide whether Wealthy Affiliate is a good program for you, or not.

Guys, please, share if anybody has an opinion about Wealthy affiliate? They offer a limited WP site and foums and so on, but I don´t know how it works...

I was a member (2016-2019). Wealthy Affiliate is an excellent training program for beginners. It is also good for experienced people who want to learn how to develop content for their blogs and websites. Members learn about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to help their content rank on search engines. Free members do not have access to all of the training available, nor access to the live webinars. I don't know if that has changed since I left.

I have been building websites since the last century. My first site was on GeoCities, then I used HostGator around 2005.

I joined WA to find out what I didn't know or had not learned on my own.

Wealthy Affiliate also provides website hosting and domain name registration services. WA Many of the top-ranked WA members do not use WA for their website hosting. I use other website hosting companies for my sites because WA (at the time I left) uses only a ticket support system. There is/was no live technical support chat or telephone tech support service

One of my WA-provided websites was hacked. Swapping emails with WA tech support was frustrating, to say the least. They did little to help me restore the site because they do not retain backup data for more than 1 day. They promote daily backup on their website, which does not help if you don't see the hack within the first day of it happening. (My current website hosting company retains backup data for 30 days.) I ended dumping my site and starting over on another hosting company.

The Wealthy Affiliate services (hosting and training) are bunded together into one price. So it is difficult to evaluate their hosting services with competitors. WA compares their $49 a month cost with Kinsta, Pagely, and WP Engine (WordPress premium hosting companies). WA considers itself as a premium WordPress managed hosting company.  They are not based on the lack of live technical support services (no chat or telephone support) and the fact that my WA-hosted site was hacked. Compare WA hosting with Siteground, Bluehost, Dreamhost, etc.

My hosting priorities are site security, tech support, and cost, in that order. If you are looking for website hosting, determine your requirements first, including security, cost, tech support, speed, etc.

Hope this helps.
