However, for the last couple of weeks I have a notice on my screen to say that Chrome is no longer sending updates to Vista users. Any advice as to what I should do? Guest mrclean0325 Posted June 13, 2016 Report Share Posted June 13, 2016 Unfortunately, using any older MS product is on the end of the timer. The security holes are not going to be plugged and many programs will not work or not be updated. Websites will not work with older browsers or put up warnings to update. The only work-around I have is to find a good Linux distribution like Ubuntu and install it. You can have all the newly updated versions of most all the software you use and it works just like Windows for the most part, except no viruses and such. Guest mrclean0325 Posted June 17, 2016 Report Share Posted June 17, 2016 If you download Ubuntu and burn it to a disk, you can try the "live" version without installing. It is a great way to test for the hardware and to see how it works. Just put in the DVD and set the compute to boot from the disk first.
