I Had A Dream, That I Didn't Know What To Do, To Generate Traffic

Hi Fellow MC Members and Guests,

Tommie Kirkland (Captkirk) here...

I had a dream last night or early this morning, that I was online but I didn't know how or what to do to generate traffic online.

I have been online since 2001 and generating traffic for me now is second nature. I guess it's a nightmare for new members or veteran members who do not know how to generate traffic.

In my dream, I couldn't go forward or backward because I just didn't know what to do to generate traffic, so I didn't do anything.

Is generating traffic online a problem for you?

I think the bigger issue is what to do with the traffic. If you send a bunch of traffic to a site which doesn't cause people to take action, you have just wasted efforts. What do you do to stand out and really convert to signups and sales?

You hit the nail on the head! I have found dealing with people online it is not usually the traffic that is the problem but the conversions that keep them poor. When you get thousands of hits to a site and get no sales, it is not a traffic problem.

There are only 2 possibilities (most times it is a combination of both):

1. Your site sucks at converting (usually from things as simple as not asking for them to do anything, provide no value,  or using a stock affiliate page that fails)

2. You are showing it to the wrong people (You can't sell a steak to a vegetarian or a fur coat to a PETA member) :)

I agree, by my exp, the problem is not on the traffic, but lies on the 2 possibilities that you've mentioned :(

Exactly! Although it is occasionally fun to watch the PETA members twitch it won't get you very far :)

Ideally, one could have a lot of traffic generated by one's referrals in various traffic sites and/or could use viral marketing methods. It doesn't really matter so much if the quality of residual traffic isn't so good. Its when you're paying for, or working for ad views by the number, that quality becomes an issue imo.

So true. Your ad is so important. What you promote, and how you present it.
