Making Money

You can make money on the internet, but it's not easy and you have to be very careful. Be sure to do your due diligence. If you do not understand this term, it is important enough for you do look it up in a dictionary!

As most people know by now, there are huge numbers of scams out there, trying to separate you from your money. I hope you are not fooled by the obvious ones that promise you millions in a very short period of time. If you are so naive to fall for that B.S., you have no business using the internet for fast profit. You will end up with fast losses!

Be realistic. Most people do not have the know-how, time, or money to start a new program. If you are sophisticated enough, or know people who you can partner with, you have a chance to succeed on your own.

But, for most of us, we are looking for ways to promote either our own little web sites or the web sites of affiliate programs that we like. So, for these people; you need to know how and where to advertise and how to build a list, if you are so inclined.

Most people are involved in some of the following activities to build their affiliate programs.

1. Safe Lists & Opt-In Lists.

2. Surfing sites & Classifieds.

3. Viral & rotator ads.

4. TEs (Traffic Exchanges)

5. Leads - you have to purchase these.

6. Blogs - very time consuming, but they work to some degree.

7. Bulk Email - where you pay someone and your ad goes on their server. And then there is bulk email stealth software that goes on your computer, but I think it is illegal in quite a few states and spam is never a good idea.

8. HYIPs - for those who want fast returns without doing anything - you know - so called passive income. HYIP stands for high-yield investment programs and the people who get involved with these are high-risk gamblers. Most of these fall apart in time and the majority of the investors lose everything. A few people get out with their profit before the thing collapses. How did they know when to get out? hmmm.

I have been networking for over 20 years and have seen my share of scams. I have lost money. I have made money. Over $250,000 in one MLM. I am telling you that the people who make the most money are the ones who take the time and put in the effort and the money to run their own programs. I applaud them. It is hard work and requires dedication and patience.

I run a small private list Called the "ACTIVE PLAYERS" List. No one sees this list but me. I test many affiliate programs. I look for programs that are new, exciting, exclusive, lucrative and have little or no competition. I join the ones I believe will be successful.

When I find one that fits most of my criteria, I send out a blurb to the people on the "LIST". I usually send an email approximately once per month or every other month.

If you want to be on this list of go-getters, just email me. You will not be contacted by other members of the list and I will never sell or expose your email to anyone.

Prosperous regards,

Martin Levine activeplayeradmin@gmail.com

Wow does this man want to write.

I currently use PTC/PTR sites, rotators, downlines, blogs.

I use and keep what is easiest to use and what I have learnt over the previous 12 months and make them habitual so they take less time. Hopefully people will stick with me and/follow me.

Like a post on here I just read, lots want to come into the market and want to make thousands but probably don't have the correct products and sites that people want immediately.

To generate the income, there has to be time, if the people that occasion these sites were counted, and bought one product once, this is not going to produce the income that people want instantly.

Keep with it and when people want to buy something, make certain that they can find it. Don't have to offer sometimes.

Have you tried selling traffic/ advertising? A billion dollar industry... I think it's easier to get someone to advertise their current business then to make them join a new one. I've been online for several years just like you and it's something I noticed. It makes sense because all you see out there is people trying to get you into their business, promoting some type of product or service. This means they need traffic and advertising. That's what you should provide. Chose a program you believe can make a difference for the people out there and share it with them. The trick is to TRY to focus on one product or service at a time. Imagine if you had put all your efforts into promoting one product only, your results would've been different that's for sure.

I wish you all the best!

Hi John,

Have you made a dime since you started this thread in Feb. 2014?

My problem is that I make money from every (most) program that I promote.

Now, I have all these great programs that's competing for my attention. What to Promote?

I'm always joining and upgrading in the latest and greatest and make sales from them.

The biggest problem I had - before I applied common sense to the process of making money online - was that I believed the myth that you could make money for "free"!! Then I got to thinking - hmm, that's charity, not business.... and no-one is likely to be giving me any charity. You either pay for traffic (aka potential customers) with time or money.

Money wasted can be replaced. Time wasted never can.

So I realised that I needed to invest a little bit of money to get started. I can't think of any business where you can get going for less money than when opening an online business. Well.... maybe window cleaning - a good honest trade, but not one that appealed to me.

Then I decided that because I'd been a computer programmer for over 30 years, I'd find it "easy" and could teach myself. WRONG! I wasted so much time and money (potential profits) by making mistake after mistake and having to re-do things.

My biggest mistake ever was not "building a list" from day 1. I had a site in a very specialised health niche that sat at the top of page 1 of Google for years - and I wasn't collecting the contact details of those who didn't buy. Bad mistake.

There's plenty of affordable coaching and training "out there", some even with self-help groups. Swallow your pride and be ready to learn. Stop chasing bright shiny objects (like I did). There's no big secret - it largely comes down to "you need traffic and a good product that people want".  Not just "any" people, specific people.

My final words are "The harder I work, the luckier I get".

Looking for a part-time (or full-time) online business? It's no secret you need to build a list.

That's HARD, so learn how I can help you save time and stress on list building. Click here for a free list building training.

I just read through this thread and it's hard to believe not making a dime in all that time. The first problem I see is you are not trying to make a dime, you are going after the big bucks everyone promises (Like MOBE) while the dimes are zooming past you every day. The truth is, if you start out concentrating on the dimes to learn the basics, it is much easier to graduate to the dollars in a short time.

Several people mentioned building a list. You can get all the tools you need to build a solid list for $10 a month and be in profit your first month just from marketing them to others as desperate as you are now. That is not just theory, I have not only done it myself, but taught several other to do it too. I have also had others join with us and sit on their hands, then wonder why they are not making as much as they could.

So maybe it's as simple as adjusting your expectations, then grow your skills and knowledge to expand. Find a need people around you have, then offer them the solution to make a connection. Lean on others to get started and do the same things they do. It's really that simple.

The day I made the decision to be "unemployable" and make my home business work, things changed.

The only real thing that changed was me. My attitude and mindset changed from "trying" to "doing". From employee to business man. I got a check up from the neck up and was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I was the only one holding me back and I could make excuses like I used to; but, I don't anymore. If I succeed or fail - it will be my fault alone. I will only fail if I quit trying.

Your mindset and attitude are the only thing you can control. If they are not right, you won't succeed. Find someone who inspires you and start taking a serious look at "WHY" you want to have a home business or be successful for that matter. I used to think it was a bunch of hooey and mumbo jumbo to think you can change everything by changing how you think, but it does work and is true. Until you truly believe it is possible to make money at home, it won't be.

I've had a read through this thread I'm also surprised to hear you didn't make a dime in 3 years.

I've been making money online since 2014, and I wouldn't say I'm doing anything special. I started off selling on eBay, and now I'm supplementing my online income with other sources such as affiliate marketing.

The first problem I see is you are not trying to make a dime, you are going after the big bucks everyone promises (Like MOBE) while the dimes are zooming past you every day. I agree with oldbuddy, sounds like you were looking for the big dollars, which is fine, but you should start with the small bucks first. I know you thread started in 2014, so it may not apply to you, but it can still apply to anyone who's new here.

Doing things like PTC, Surveys, GPT, Mobile apps etc, are some of the easiest ways to make a little extra cash. It's not a lot but it's something. Then over time you can start to learn more and start promoting the programs you use. When people see how much you're making from those sites they'll be more likely to join, rather than if you promote the site after only using it once.

It's definitely a learning curve, and requires hard work. If you're determined to stick through it, you'll definitely start seeing results.

P.S. For anyone in the UK/N.Ireland, I would highly recommend you google "Matched Betting". I wish I had known about this back in 2014. It's truly the easiest way to make a decent amount of extra money online, in the shortest time. I would also suggest checking out "My Matched Betting Experience" blog for more info.

I'm only suggesting it cause it's been one of my biggest online earners for the last 6 months, so worth checking out in my opinion. And as you do your research you'll find that many reputable sources are recommending it as well.

Hope that helps!

I have built myself a small network and am trying to sell but have earned nothing. Still holding fast but it is not easy bringing people into this market and bringing them in in such a way that they can just step in and out within a couple of minutes without having to search too much.

Many people make the mistake of directly promoting their offers instead of creating campaigns that targets the things a prospect needs and wants and fulfill them somehow.

You need to climb inside the head of a prospect and figoure out what they are searching for and why to create more effective ad campaigns... and then of course, test and tweak!

I agree - as long as there's people trying to promote anything online they'll be looking for ways to generate more traffic. Offering advertising, either on your own sites or as an affiliate, is a perennial way to make money.

It's a cliche, but the people who consistently made money in the gold rush were the shovel salesmen. Sure, some people got lucky, some people got to the right place at the right time and struck it rich, but most prospectors didn't. However, EVERYONE needed tools and the smart entrepreneurs simply supplied that demand.

It is all about testing and seeing what works for you, just because something is working for some marketers doesn't mean its going to work for you...I also been trying to make money online for 4 years and the most i've made was 500 a month, but that business venture was short lived. Now I've found the business thats right for me and is working.

Keep at it john and eventually you will find something that works for you....

quote Paul Nulty:

if you keep trying different techniques with no results you may need to re think about either the market you are targeting or the products or services you are promoting.

partly im with you but i still recommend to start from careful selection products or services you are going to promote

That's great advice which I follow with any and every programs that I promote.

I promote what people join, upgrade in, and etc... :)

Making money online requires consistent and persistent efforts. People advertise saying you can earn five figure in a week, in a day blah blah blah. Reality is the most money is made by the people who start programs with an intention of making quick money, these are the people promising the sky and raising your hopes sky high. When reality sinks in you realize that you need to work for every dollar and there is no free lunch. Start small, learn and grow. It will take time but you will be sure footed.

Hi John,

What kind of money are you trying to make? $5 or $1,300 per sale?

I have found through my own personal experience that making money online is actually quite simple.

I've never made more money in say, 'one day' anywhere else that I have from promoting things on the internet.

That said, it can be difficult to acquire certain skills and get all the pieces in the right places. Even for someone that has made money.

It really falls down to your level of commitment and how much you are willing to invest in yourself.

The best piece of advice I can give is always stand out from the crowd. Create original splash pages, lead capture pages, and ad copy. And always be testing.

Also, you get better results if you promote benefits and solutions, not opportunities or products themselves.
