Watch out for this one...

Every so often I get snookered by some fancy typing website. There was one I saw on Facebook of all places where someone posted a like for it. It was then called "PayTaski" and was supposed to be a "work at home" gig where you got paid for tasks.

They didn't ask for any money to join. All you had to do was get people to sign up and they paid you $10 per lead. Sounded fine and great. The payout was at $300 and paid through PayPal after you verified and all that.

So I sent traffic its way and started getting signups left and right. In less than 4 days I had $295 in my account and knew I could cash out the next day and was thrilled at the result. There was a lot I could do with that extra money. Thinking how much easier it was to make money this way and making some plans to expand further filled my head and dreams that night.

Grandpappy always told me not to count the eggs and wait on chickens...

I tried (yes tried) to go to the site the next day to cash out and ....it wasn't there anymore - GONE! Nothing but a blank page. So I kept trying thinking the site may be down.

A couple days later there was a domain redirect up to another site called "GiveMeLeads" or something like that with the same deal. My login didn't work and nobody from support would contact me back. I have no idea what they are really doing. I have never gotten any email from them or any "new" spam.

I just know they shattered my poor dreams...sniff...sniff

So another life experience to add to the collection. I should have known better, but sometimes you just have to take the chance.

Sometimes you just have to take your lumps. I was out of my time invested, which is money. I could have spent the time doing something that actually made me some money, REAL money. I can replace money, I can replace credits, time...not so much.

Maybe me and ole Doc Brown can figure this time thing out while driving around in his DeLaurean.... :P

Sounds like they are just building a list they can spam emails at... by promising to pay people for the leads they get people to build a list for them.

That's exactly what they're doing. Right on!

Every time I read stuff like this, I tend to get a little more cautious. I have seen sites like this come and go with such regularity that I ignore them for the most part. Some time ago, I ran across a site that was dedicated to identifying these scammers and their sites. I used to check it quite often as it was updated frequently. I haven't seen it in awhile. I may have just lost the link in my favorites.
