It amazes me how many people fail to take a few extra seconds to make sure they are using the right personalization code in mailers. I do realize most people don't even read them, or care, since they are clicking for credits; but, not everyone is.

Why make this kind of first impression? Why even try to personalize?

If you don't care enough to do a little thing - why would someone trust you for something else?

It is like the people telling me how rich they are going to make me from a Wix site...

Or the person asking how to make money online with "Let me show you how to make 10K" in their signature...

Maybe I am just old and crotchety....just wanting someone to at least try to earn my business...

Yep, It's very important to take time and make sure that you're doing it right when you send emails.

I try to remember to re-read my posts and check for spelling and more importantly, to see if what I said makes any sense.  When we leave out a word here and there, it is sometimes difficult to get the real meaning of a phrase.  If first impressions are important to you, just take a minute to re-read your post before you hit that button.

Funny but so true.   :D

This also reminds me of the offline promotion techniques I see around town.  Why commit to ordering business cards or vehicle magnet signage when you're branding Gmail - and not yourself?

Some signage would even have a logo!  But a generic URL printed on the signage?  Why not commit to ordering a (branded) domain for your business?

These little things really do go a long way and it has nothing to do with your age, sir.  Its just wise business practice...I believe.
