Still Promoting a Sales or Registration Page? Why?

Recommended Posts

I keep seeing this everywhere online, particularly in safelists and traffic exchanges...

Why would you not focus on list building?

Far too many times I will be led directly to a "Sign Up" form in which I'm already choosing a username for the service.

What happened to telling the benefits first?

I'm not quite sure why this marketing strategy makes sense to some.  Imaging subscribing to some channel of media and you don't even know how it will benefit you or your family. Will you be entertained? Will it bore you to death?

Is it anxiety?  Allow the sales process....and seek to build rapport.

I have never done that, I wonder if that method really work? I would like to hear from those who use that method of promoting their products or services. :)

....and they will blame the safelist or traffic exchange for their lack of success, even though it is actually their lack of proper marketing.

Darren, I cannot deny this point here.  One thing that's for certain...I can't find anything to blame on your sites. Your products give results (when used properly).

I've been seeing this quite a bit lately and just ignore it. Don't take me to a signup form before you tell me what it is and how it works! Does anyone actually give up their information - and sometimes money - without knowing for what? Mysteries are good - but not good for business.

Well stated Deborah.

I also have seen much of this activity going on lately.  Directed to a signup page with not a clue as to what the site even provides!  Good luck advertising a signup page because you are really, really going to need it.  :D
