Hi, When I first heard the term blogs ... blogging ... etc. I thought it was a silly name and didn't really pay much attention to it. Then I noticed a lot of people were doing it. If they were all using blogs, there had to be something to it -- or at least you would think so. Now I totally see why blogging is so important. Not only can blogs be used to tell people about services and products you use, blogging can also be used to build your name recognition. I am probably not blogging the right way (if there is even a "right" way), but I'm trying to make sure the things that I sell are in the search engines. For instance, I'm in one of the diet product MLMs (Skinny Body Care). I created a blog specifically for that business. I also did that with MCA. By having blog posts in the search engines, someone is likely to end up on one of them and buy or join something I'm writing about. I am not much of a writer, so my blog posts are mainly ads with more information tucked into them. It may not be perfect, but it's helping me to get sales. I guess that's important when you work online for a living. How are you using blogs? If you aren't using blogs yet, why aren't you? Paula

I use blogs to simply share with others my experiences.

Hopefully the mistakes that I've made in my internet

marketing journey can be of benefit to someone else.

I will also blog a small percentage of rants.

Inspirational, most likely.

I love the concept of blogging because it gives

you a (searchable) home to display your content.

When done properly, of course, it could mean for

some decent ad revenue.

I use my blog to connect with other people on the same path I am on, only a little behind. I am realizing there are a ton of people trying to make a few extra bucks online, that have no clue how valuable a blog can be. By giviing them a real time dynamic demonstration of what I do with mine, they may get the idea to use a few of the products and services that pay me commission every month.

Of course it helps that they cost less than the competition and provide high quality performance.

Currently, I'm not using blogs. I have better results advertising the products than blogging about them.

I can still remember some of the heroes of the 4th 9/11 plane being mentioned on a blog I was following hours before anything made any of the regular news services.

Blogs can be useful and can make you money. The problem (like every other site) is getting readers to your blog. Many use them incorrectly by using them as sales copy displays. Bad idea. When bloggers try to talk to people vs. sell to them, it tends to work out better.

Excellent point! And this approach should be used to all copy in my opinion, including email marketing.

as for me it's one platform to advertise your site in the search engine because search engines love real true to life, updated information about something and it spiders the content. yes it advertises for you 24/7 now that wordpress has always used and made it a default to use the friendly seo url that search engine love.

i hate to blog about my life but i always love to blog about my products and services all over the internet.

A good marketer should get a blog set up for their business. It really improves one's business. I have more than three blogs which i set up myself. They are helping my business a lot.

I have a blog that is used for posting opportunities and links. The nice thing about blogs is they are user friendly and search engine friendly.

You can post your link on social media without getting flagged for spam and have programs that might not be accepted.

Blogger is very easy to use and edit.

I swear by it.

Blogs are a natural progression for any affiliate in my book. Reason being, as stated by others in this thread is that they can be used to document your own progress online, showcase what works and what doesn't and are a great place for you to use Banner Advertising, be that Google Adwords, or affiliate marketing banners.

You can also write generic information on one page. or post then share that post with others quite easily, which in turn drives lot s of traffic to your blog.

I have been using WordPress since 2009 and have built a fairly nice easy on the eye blog that has a mix of both, to show an example.

As for blogger well yes it is free and easy to use, but the downside of it is that you don't actually own it which is highlighted in this article

Blogs can indeed be a form of advertising that works for you around the clock, but it depends on various factors. Here are some points to consider:

  1. Blog Content: Well-written and informative blog posts can attract readers and potential customers to your website or business. By providing valuable content, you can establish yourself as an authority in your industry and build trust with your audience.

  2. Search Engine Optimization (SEO): When blogs are optimized for search engines, they can help improve your website's visibility in search results. This means that people searching for relevant topics or keywords may discover your blog posts and, consequently, your products or services.

  3. Long-Term Visibility: Unlike some other forms of advertising, blog posts have the potential to remain accessible and visible online for an extended period. This means that even months or years after publication, people can still find and engage with your content.

  4. Social Media Promotion: Blogs can be shared on social media platforms, extending their reach beyond your website. When your blog posts are shared by readers or by your own marketing efforts, they can reach a wider audience and potentially attract more customers.

  5. Conversion Opportunities: Blogs can be an effective tool for converting website visitors into customers. By strategically placing call-to-action buttons or links within your blog posts, you can guide readers to take the desired action, such as making a purchase, subscribing to a newsletter, or contacting you.

However, it's important to note that achieving success with blogging as a form of advertising requires consistency, quality content, and an understanding of your target audience. It may also take time to see significant results, as building an audience and attracting customers through blogs is a gradual process.
