What's The One Piece Of Advice You Would Give To A New Affiliate Marketer?

Recommended Posts

I would say "Don't be afraid to ask questions and to request analytic information on the product you're requesting to promote." The product creator or service should  advise on the best where, what and how to promote said product as each person signing up has a different level of expertise, experience and economy from the other person promoting the product.

It must be a one prescription fit for every marketer as the guy  with 10 years experience, advanced marketing knowledge and Ten Thousand Dollar to spare in marketing campaigns has a completely different psychology and capacity than the guy who has just six months promoting affiliate programs with little knowledge and less than $50 Dollars available to set up a marketing campaign.

I think the best way to get started is to start by promoting yourself ..

Focus, persistence, form good habits, eliminate bad ones.

Take action. Know that the only way to reach your goals is to do the work, daily and did I mention focus?

Find a legitimate product that your markets NEEDS that pays you recurring commissions.

Learn how to embrace and learn from your inevitable failures.

Don't slow down until you can look back and say you're proud of your accomplishment.

Branding is also really important.

Whether you are branding yourself or promote an affiliate offer or site you should try to create a unique brand to help stand out from the crowd.

A very simple example of this would be to Create a name/website like Koi Pond Solutions (.com) to promote a koi pond guide/ebook. Rather then just promoting using the actual name of the product and be unrecognizable from other marketers.

People will naturally see you as more professional, an authority and will be more inclined to return to And be more likely to remember Koi Pond Solutions.

That will increase conversions.

I would ask them: Are you giving your prospects useful information about your business, or just shouting out how great it is? How do you make money when 95% are not? Stop doing the same thing they are! The First Rule of Marketing is to position yourself against your competition. If one person in a crowd starts waving a red flag they immediately stand out. But if 10,000 people start waving red flags it becomes impossible to pick out one individual.

Stop selling and start telling. Instead of hawking your offer like everyone else is doing start offering people information that will help them in their business... then offer your product as a solution to their problem. They will be more likely to trust you and people like to do business with people they trust and that have an interest in helping them solve their problems.

Write text ads, emails, articles, give away free reports and ebooks... give your potential customers something of value. Change your mindset to sell something to that of helping others get what they need to succeed and you will succeed.

With the rate of failure in affiliate marketing so high What's The One Piece Of Advice You Would Give To A New Affiliate Marketer in order to help them succeed?

To build a list is a great way to do it, but don't just send out a squeeze page without giving people great info on the product, as many are doing.

You can build a list via the product you are selling or you build a list separately,

as eg in the program below, will you also build a list of your own, as well as making money, that program has also some squeeze pages,

but I wouldn't sign up on those myself, so I bypass the squeeze pages and let people in on the page, after the squeeze page with full info and a signup link.

So the list I'll be making in this program, is only the ones who actually have made a purchase,

but that's not too bad either, because then I know they are willing to use money, and inside the program is there a mailing system, where you can mail your referrals.

you can also set up your own autoresponder to the program.

and then it is a100% commission program, so it doesn't get any better than that, does it?

Yeah it actually does, because it has a viral twist attached to it, as you will hear about in the video

My answer would be this, because there are some excellent answers in this thread. From experience i would say build your list daily, using reputable and timeless tools and focus on building relationships with that list.

Use your own membership script to do this and there are plenty of good options around, wuth my own preference being PMS by Darren, combined with Worldprofit ( Turnkey)

Build your list Build your freedom.And when you focus on being a list builder, then that is a niche on its own, with very few good people doing it

List building is the best passive income you can earn

It is a tough question as there are many roads to success in this industry and all of them have traps and road blocks along the way.

I would encourage someone to AVOID any site that forces you to view someone else's ad in exchange for sharing their own ad ONLY UNTIL they have a clear business plan and strategy in place. Hopefully this would allow them to skip the rabbit hole of program hopping or shiny object syndrome and give them enough time to research (via blogs, forums etc where it may be 'easier' to avoid being sucked in to the hype of ads you will find there).

Once there is a strategy and plan in place, which can always (and should in fact) evolve over time that is the point that exposure to the endless "opportunities" will be easier for someone new to the industry to navigate. They will have more  focus and be more  invested in their own plan and strategy and therefore only join programs or opportunities that are of actual use (yes, ad exchange platforms are fine at this point) or supplement and support their own business plan and strategy.

Additionally I would recommend they find a mentor who is genuine in mentoring (as opposed to sponsoring) the new comer.

I realise these thoughts may be contrary to what many here would like to see and I do see a place for ad exchange platforms, just not as the starting point.

Cheers

Nate

More than one tips but..

1. Learn to Outrank the Competition

2. Select a Profitable Affiliate Program

3. Use Low-cost Tools for Your Marketing Campaign
One of the pros of affiliate marketing is that it’s low-cost. Use a free or “freemium” email marketing tool such as Mailchimp.

Simply focus on creating something that is yours.

It can be a website, but it is not advised because you are a newcomer.

But you can create your own marketing platform.  Your marketing platform is a combination of programs that provides- offer to generate traffic, traffic to collect leads, leads that can convert them to buyers using a contact management system (CMS).  In essence, you will be having your own leads- warm and hot.

Leads are warm when they have opted to accept your offer.  Leads are hot when they have purchased from you as a buyer/member.

Once you have these leads you can promote any product or service that come across.

It is to be noted that this process takes time, but many aspects of your marketing platform will also generate your income.  So, you always need to continue your efforts to enhance your marketing platform to collect leads,

There is a program that is FREE to join and yet pays you, helps you build a team (leads), and provides income-generating programs.  You can get information here.

Content is king.

After many years in the business of marketing that's the one piece of advice, I would give any new marketer.

You can buy content such as:

* Articles

* News pieces

* Branding

* SEO content etc.

If you can't create great content yourself you can always get inexpensive content creators from places like SEO blackhat world, or even Fiverr. Great content is never wasted. I've had sales from content I posted 7-8 years before. No matter what other strategies you use, always be putting content out there that leads back to you.  :)
