Darren Olander Posted July 27, 2016 Report Posted July 27, 2016 It appears Traffic Monsoon is in trouble: The Securities and Exchange Commission filed a lawsuit Tuesday in federal court in Salt Lake City and asked for a temporary restraining order against a company called Traffic Monsoon and owner Charles David Scoville, 36, of Murray. U.S. District Judge Jill Parrish granted the restraining order Tuesday evening, freezing the assets of Scoville and Traffic Monsoon, which is sitting on about $60 million in cash in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Regulators seek appointment of a receiver to find and protect the assets of Scoville and the company. troysavary Posted July 28, 2016 Report Posted July 28, 2016 It appears Traffic Monsoon is in trouble: As soon as I saw Traffic Monsoon, I knew the SEC would be involved. It screamed Ponzi from the start. It is no different than those autosurfs from about 10 years ago that paid you a certain percentage of your investment each day to surf until you had reached 144% or whatever, then you cashed out. Just like Traffic Monsoon, they were not paying from investing, but from the upgrade fees of later joiners. Those systems are never sustainable long term. Quote Come have a cup of tea with us. jonjenkins Posted July 30, 2016 Report Posted July 30, 2016 That's a shame about Traffic Monsoon - it was looking like the best of the rev-share type of system. On the other hand, it seemed like a slow rate of return to me. Quote "How To Sell Without Selling" Internet Marketing For All
Darren Olander Posted July 31, 2016 Report Posted July 31, 2016 On the other hand, it seemed like a slow rate of return to me. Pretty sure that is why it lasted as long as it did, until Feds caught on to it. Quote Founder of Marketing CheckpointMy Blog
troysavary Posted July 31, 2016 Report Posted July 31, 2016 Slow return or fast return, Ponzis always eventually collapse. If the only reason to join a program in the pay plan, it most likely is an illegal pyramid. Unless there is a product worth buying even if there was no comp plan, it cannot sustain itself. bobbyk1 Posted August 18, 2016 Report Posted August 18, 2016 We will see what happens with the Fed. I am a member, and like TM. Supposedly the owner was taking in more money than was needed to pay out, operating at a profit. Most ponzies don't look anything like that. If it wins the case does that validate it once and for all? Quote
