  1. The content I care about gets on my self-hosted blogs. 3rd party blog websites get content that I don't care about losing - and yes I have lost blogs on just about all those free blogging platforms people have listed. You've been warned. Invest in your own properties first and foremost before putting your content on sites that you do not own.
  2. The problem with free opportunities is that it attracts people who have no money and have no desire to spend money to build their business. For the amount of time I was spending working SFI, I was making way more money as an affiliate for a survey offer! SFI has made some changes, so I don't know if it's any better than it was a couple of years ago. All I can say is try it for yourself and don't get caught up in doing busy work and mind-numbing tasks. You want to spend your time marketing and helping those on your team who want and deserve the help. Just my 2 cents.
  3. Create your own ebook is better. I've done this for years and have gotten a lot of leads and sales from it. This way you don't have to rely on a 3rd party to keep it updated and you have any links to any of your programs you want in it. I've always used Free pdf convert and got professional covers made on Fiverr. I write all my own content, but you can outsource that to or use private label rights articles.
  4. It's been often said with gurus that you don't listen to what they say, but watch what they do. In a some cases I have found this to be true.
  5. I used HitsConnect and found it cumbersome and a little archaic for me. I switched to Clixtrac - (not an aff link) which has more features and better tracking capabilities. It will even host your banners which is something I don't think HitsConnect does. Clickmagick does NOT allow traffic from traffic exchanges and safelists and will disable your account if you use their trackers in this kind of traffic. Improvely is another alternative but in my opinion it's better suited for marketers doing a lot of paid campaigns.
  6. As far as I'm aware of it's the only legit no-cost network marketing business that's been around for nearly two decades. The free business model doesn't work long-term for most businesses, but SFI has found a way to make it work for them via their real products (most of which offer FREE shipping) that real people want and buy. Like with any business there are pros and cons. I like it and earn a monthly check from SFI. There are some things I would definitely change about it. Neverthelss, it's a good program for people who are tired of traditional network marketing and or those who are on a tight budget.
  7. Back in the day I was a big time article marketer and had articles distributed at hundreds of places because back then it worked and you could get your article ranked on the first page of Google in sometimes hours! Those were the good ol days, but the biggest drawaback to that strategy was that I wasn't building my "real estate" consistently - my own blog. And yep, I've paid the price for that. Today, I post 99.9% on my blog. I then syndicate snippets of those posts on such sites like Scoop It, Viral Content Buzz, etc... When I write an original article, it's strategically placed on sites that have shown to be in Google's good side (that can change any minute tho) because I"m seeing them on the first page of Google. Another thing I've done, although to no big extent is guest blogging. I highly recommend that to help you build your brand and get traffic back to your site.
  8. Mine was Colesce Lingerie (I don't think they're still around!) My mom was in Amway back in the day and even worked at the manufacturing plant that made the vitamins. She said it was one of the best jobs she ever had! (That's for all you Amway haters out there!)
  9. Hey Andy, fancy seeing you here! You said, "These companies don't care if 97% of the members fail so long as they can get testimonials from the 3% earning all the major paychecks." Let me say right off the bat that I am a systems girl - I love systems, but ONLY the ones that train people to be better marketers and business owners. Unfortunately I've seen so many systems come and go and even really good ones, which leaves a lot of room for the sketchy ones. There is only one marketing system that I recommend and it does what it says it does and has made me and thousands of others better marketers and has created as a by-product a separate income stream. The goal of the system is to help people in their business, not necessarily just make money. It's not that companies don't care that 97% of people fail, it's that IS the standard percentage rate of failure across all kinds of businesses and programs. There is nothing a company/system can do especially if it's providing the training and mentoring that's needed and people choose to not partake. I can tell you that the high failure rate has nothing to do with systems or companies, but with people. Just my take on it all...
  10. Top FREE traffic methods are:blogging, video marketing (YouTube), and social marketing. These three methods help you build trust and credibility a lot faster than other marketing methods. Also with blogging and video marketing, your content will bring you leads years down the road if you optimized your content right.
  11. Tony Robbins by far! I would say then it would be Les Brown. I love his contagious laugh!
  12. Great topic! This will help anyone who's struggling... I would say there are four things I do consistently Remind myself of my "why" - I watch short motivational videos on YouTube. My fav is Les Brown. YouTube is littered with Les Brown videos. This gives me a dose of inspiration. I pray I work on my mindset - along with your "why", your mindset is the fuel behind your business. Without either one you won't go very far. I use Tony Robbins stuff when I want to go deep!Once in a great while I will pick up a book on personal development, but mainly I do those four things above more consistently.
  13. You can track offline marketing various ways. If you're wanting people to call a phone number that's in your ad, you can get a phone number from Google (or any number of places) and track how many calls you get. At one point I had several toll-free numbers that I used in my marketing. I can't remember the name of the company I got them from - it's been awhile. Now if you're sending people to a website, you can get a specific domain for each advertising campaign you're running. Another thing you can do is put a code on the flyer and when you create your lead capture page, have a place on there for a code. You can even offer your prospects a free gift for inputting the code from their flyer to the lead capture page. Those are the simple ways to track your offline marketing efforts.
  14. SEO is important only if you wish your web pages to show up in Google's organic search. Some people (companies) do and there are many that do not. For the latter they rely on paid methods because it's faster and more scalable. Organic (SEO) traffic is not reliable (if you've been through all the Google algo changes, then you know as much). So, the answer to your question can best be answered by the person/company the question is directed to. Like I stated earlier there are people making lots of money without help from any search engine. I personally think to solely rely on SEO to build your business is foolhardy considering what's happened in the past few years. A better approach would be SEO, Social media, and paid methods or solely paid methods once you've got a funnel/or high converting website.
  15. Absolutely Oldbuddy! I just chimed in here to agree with OB. I'm only testing one safelist (free) at the moment because in the past my returns didn't warrant the effort - especially when I had other marketing techniques that pull in a higher response. So, I'm not big on safelists, but this is a good topic. I think the only true way to see if paid safelists are better than the ones that offer the free memberships is to test each safelist and come to your on conclusions.
  16. There are lots of link dropping in this thread - and others as well. This site isn't moderated well. I've heard of Jeremy, but I wasn't aware he had courses out. I would guess that what he teaches is invaluable since it worked from him (as long as he's teaching the methods that got him to where he his today). He's well known in the Internet marketing realm.
  17. I'm in network marketing but I'm more of an affiliate marketer. Most of my money has been made in the affiliate marketing arena. Network marketing has its place (for some people), but it's a good fit for some people and not for others.
  18. I've never heard of the term. You may want to explain it and/or explain the pros and cons of it and why someone would use this form of marketing.
  19. There are thousands of companies. Years ago you would see a lot of MLM's promoted on TE's and SL's but now it appears that a lot of people have turned more towards affiliate programs. Here's the Direct Selling top companies by revenue: http://directsellingnews.com/index.php/view/2015_dsn_global_100_list All this shows is that the companies listed on the list are growing rapidly (which is important), however, just because a company isn't within the top it doesn't mean it's not growing or isn't a worthy company to join. You'll have to do some research before joining anything.
  20. Mail chimp should have some lead capture pages you can use. A lot of the top autoresponder services do. I'd be surprised if MC didn't. Every so often Lead Pages gives away LC page templates. Of course you'll need hosting to host them yourself.
  21. The only way you're going to get better conversions is if you track and test your marketing results and tweak them for better conversions. I'm not sure what the OP is getting at since there is no link to what he's promoting.
  22. There are always going to be people who are hate_____(fill in the blank). Obviously these people are not going to sign up. What you do want to do is find out where people who like MLM like to hang out online and be there. That would be home business/make money online forums, groups/communities on social sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ etc... You want to give value first and that happens when you give tips, advice to choosing a business, building a business, etc... In that case you're not leading with your MLM per se like Robert stated above, but with information that helps people. Now you can lead with your MLM but it's all how you do it. I personally do both, but my greatest successes have been leading with info first and foremost. Hope this helps you somewhat.
  23. Not too sure what you're getting at ... Your ads should be aimed at the person (avatar) within that niche who is experiencing a problem that your product/service can solve.
  24. This is a loaded question because like Kimberly stated, it's all about how you relate to the person. Some people like Frank Kern, Russell Brunson, Ryan Deiss, Mike Filsaime whereas other people can't stand any of those people. Me personally, I have learned a lot from a lot of different Internet "gurus." One of my old faves is Michelle Macphearson. She was the social media queen back in the day and what I learned from her put some $$ in my bank account. Today I really like Kim Roach, Kern, and Deiss. So, you will have to find the person who you connect well with and that can teach in a way where you understand what is being taught (not all gurus do this well).
