  1. I'm about to take the kids over to Bass Pro. They are doing free workshops for kids over the summer. I'll check out the link when I get home.
  2. I surf with the volume off in the browser and listen to podcasts usually. I actually look at the pages that come up though, unless it is a splash I have seen a million times. Some exchanges, the only thing you see advertised are other exchanges, PTC sites, and downline builders for exchanges and PTCs. I seriously wonder if a lot of the surfers have any plan to actually make money by means other than surfing.
  3. What do you look for in traffic exchanges? Long timer, short timer? Games or just simplicity? Do you like exchanges with chat rooms built in, or is that a distraction? I am trying to get a wide range of opinions on what makes a good exchange. Of course, I'll never be able to make everyone happy. What do you think a reasonable upgrade fee is? Does the graphics design off a TE have any bearing on whether or not you would sign up?
  4. I'm already starting to get traffic. I'll post results from the traffic in a few days.
  5. One of the problems my iwfe Dayna has with marketing is that she is extremely reluctant to call people on the phone. Her shyness is multiplied when the prospect of calling up a stranger comes up. Through draws held at craft shows and farmers maekets, we gather quite a few leads for the tea business, but she rarely calls back the people she meets. I was searching for a solution to this, some tool that would help her. I wasn't having much luck until one of my ChewTheFatOff upline showed me a system her was using. One of the features is the ability to record a voice mail and have the system send it out to leads gathered. This is perfect as Dayna can now record a voice mail describing the benefits of hosting a party, and have it automatically left on the voicemail of everyone who gives us a phone number, and have them call us back if interested. This one feature alone has sold the system to us. But it does so much more. The lead capture page system is great. You can either use the premade lead capture pages, or make your own. You can put prerecorded videos or audio on the pages, or record your own. Leads are placed into the contact manager, and you can customize what information you want to lead capture pages to gather. For example, you can have it gather country, state, etc, and sort the leads by region. If the leads include e-mail address, the system has a built in autoresponder. If you gather phone numbers, you can have it leave a voice mail. Prosperity central has several tools that help automate your marketing. You get a toll free phone number. You can record an overview of whatever business you are promoting and have that play to anyone calling the toll free number. There is a flyer generator so you could make flyers with your website and tool free number on it, and print them out to distribute. So not only do they help with online marketing, but also offline. Once you build a team, they can also help you manage that team. There is conference and webinar support. Easily have training calls with your team, without expensive phone bills to go along with it. Also, the premier upgrade allows you to modify the system and pass those on to your team. Record videos presenting your business, and your team has access to them on their Prosperity Central system as well. Make a duplicable system for your team to use. There is a one month free trial of either the professional or premier level. Test out the tools, then decide if it is worth staying subscribed. If not, there is a free level as well, but without all the features. Go check out the video. It shows all the features, way more than what I have covered here. http://troysavary.kitchencash.com/join
  6. Went with JV Partner. Almost pulled the trigger on founder, looks tempting.
  7. I'll give it a try. Thank you page traffic tends to be good traffic as it is from proven buyers.
  8. Generally, if a site is offering tons of traffic at very low prices, it is not good traffic. I would rather have 50 clicks from people who might buy than 50, 000 clicks from people paid fractions of a penny to see the site.
  9. Sometimes scam just means "I was too lazy to make it work", but sometimes, and far too often in the PTC world, scam really does mean scam.
  10. Her brother would most likely join under her if he does, but that is good because it helps her and me.
  11. The host is signing up as a consultant. This was definitely well worth the trip. She already has some customers lined up and she hasn't even got her starter kit yet.
  12. I generally haven't put much effort into PTC sites. All that clicking for fractions of a penny never seemed worth the hassle. And because it is so much effort for so little money, anyone I ever signed up to a PTC didn't stay active long. I just found logging in to multiple PTC sites, checking if there are ads, promoting them to build a downline, and the actual clicking process, with it opening a new window each click, annoying. I think I may have found a solution. Buxenger is a browser extension for Chrome or Firefox that takes most of the annoyance out of PTC sites. It makes signing up to new sites a couple of clicks, filling in the information on the registration screen and generating a random password. It gives you a home screen with all your PTC sites as tiles, telling you at a glance how much earnings you have and how many clicks are available. I've been using it for a day so far and it has made me not completely hate PTC sites. The downline builder should help me actually get a downline in multiple PTCs as well. If you like PTCs, you should give this a try. The installation to Waterfox was painless and the setup is easy. As someone who normally wouldn't bother with PTCs, this changes everything for me. http://buxenger.com?r=troysavary
  13. Posted ads on your FunGuppy site. I'll see how many clickthroughs I get.
  14. Who doesn't love bonus codes? I know that I do. One of the easiest ways to get me to join a site is having a bonus code that allows me to get something for free. Truckload of Ads is a one stop shop for bonus codes in dozens of safelists, traffic exchanges, banners exchanges, etc. Thy also have a downline builder. For a onetime $10 fee, you get lifetime access. Earn $5 per referral too. I opted for the optional one time $20 upgrade because it greatly increases the earning potential. Site owners can pay a $10 fee to add their site and offer bonus codes. As an upgraded member, you earn commissions on these payments as well. You also need to be an upgraded member to qualify to purchase the site owner status. Since I plan on starting a couple sites, it seemed like a good idea to prepare for that. http://truckloadofads.com/?rid=2228
  15. I find that free advertising is pretty good at getting people to join other free programs. On the other hand, I have had pretty much zero luck selling anything using free advertising.
  16. Started getting e-mails for the online orders placed for the party. I am blown away. One guy bought almost $300 of products. So just his section of the order is nearly $75 in commissions. And orders are still coming in. The hostess went above and beyond in contacting the people she knows. I need a few more hostesses that eager. The hostess's brother was pitching the idea of signing up as a consultant to her. I guess he saw how much enthusiasm she was showing for the tea and figured she would be a natural at it. She was reluctant having never had her own business before, but he is rather entrepreneurial and saw the potential right away, given her love of tea and of hosting parties.
  17. Set an autoship for the smallest clicks package. If it works well, I'll upgrade to a larger package in a month or two.
  18. What is even more important than me being passionate about it, since I can motivate myself to work on just about anything if I can see a future reward, is the fact that my wife is passionate about the tea. I have been a strong believer in the direct sales model for years but had a hard time finding a company that had a product Dayna loved. Now we have the perfect fit for us.
  19. I've seen Dark Hits advertised but never payed attention since there are so many exchanges now. I'll give it a try after that recommendation.
  20. Thanks for the good wishes. It was an awesome event. The host really knew how to throw a party. She had bought from us before, and made a bunch of party snacks using some of our products. She did such a good job of presenting the food, we really didn't have to do much selling. Every person present bought several products, and several others who couldn't make it are making online orders. I'm figuring on about $200 in commissions by time everything is tallied up. We also booked another party and had 2 guests show stong interest in joining the business. It definitely was an incredibly successful day all around. Only negative was a deer running out in front of me on the freeway, leading to hard braking and a bit of a startled wife, but no collision fortunately.
  21. Off on a road trip today to drive Dayna to a party booked in another city. Hopefully, since it is a 2 hours drive to get there, we sell a lot. Even better would be recruiting a new consultant or two there, so they can handle that ciry instead of driving there regularly. Nobody in my team or upline knows of anyone doing Steeped Tea in that area, so it might be an untapped market for us.
  22. Thanks. I thought it might be you when I got the notice of a referral. I'm only partway done updating the referal links in the downlone duilder. I'll have to try to find time today to get them done.
  23. Joined. Don't have time to go through everything yet, but I'm in. I'll see what the offer later tonight and get things set up.
  24. New downline builder, link exchange, rotator, etc. A one stop shop for traffic and advertising. Upgraded members get free referrals. Every time you refer 3, they give you a fourth random referral. For a short time, lifetime upgrades are only $27. - viral rotator - traffic exchange - rebrandable downline builder - mailer - banner exchange - activity based random referrals http://downlinemaker.com/?r=57997
  25. My wife and I are big fans of all natural foods, without artificial flavours or sweeteners. We are both tea drinkers. So Steeped Tea was a natural niche for us. I always feel better promoting a company that offers a tangible product, especially when it is a higher quality product than usual in the market. Promoting Steeped Tea doesn't feel like work, because we just get together with people and drink tea. The product has been selling itself. We have definitely found our niche.
