  1. You can create pages at MailChimp, but then you can't avoid the double opt-in (at least, that's how they used to be). For any list, the dropdown on the right has "Signup Forms." Workarounds are making pages elsewhere (even Wufoo - sp?) or collecting emails on Twitter with their one-click lead gen cards: no separate page required, no double opt I agree with the comments above that you get what you pay for, and free capture pages often look like it, or make it nearly impossible to install pixels or whatever you need.
  2. Have you tried whitelisting the addresses sending those mails, and filtering them into separate folders in your own inbox so gmail knows you're interested in them?
  3. $5 - $7 a day is pretty standard for me to get a small but steady stream of results. I find fb advertising a bargain as long as you've got your targetting right (which of course applies to all advertising). The other key is to keep ads running all the time and NOT to place an ad, decide it "didn't work" and give up. Consistency matters. Your CPC goes down over time, too, so the first few days of any new campaign are the most expensive.
  4. Hey, Solid Ground Video creation really requires nothing more than a webcam or a cellphone. If you want to record presentations, try Screencast-o-matic (dorky name, I know). It's free, but the upgrade is super cheap and well worth it. You can do whatever combination suits your need: just recording your screen; adding the camera so you're in the video, too; or leaving your face off completely and just doing voiceover. Extremely easy to figure out, too Video views are incredibly inexpensive on facebook. If you prefer YouTube, I like the method of buying an ad just for a few days to get the numbers up quickly because after that it "ranks" higher when people search YT for your keywords and you can stop paying. For complete (and very detailed) training on getting your videos ranked AND on maximizing the potential for real optins and sales, I recommend Vince Reed's YouTube PPC Secrets course. It's included as part of his Inner Circle (not free, but very inexpensive and a terrific value)...which includes classes and live webinars on a broad range of topics and regular one-on-one coaching so you can have an expert answer any question you could possible have. Check out the Inner Circle at http://www.mits247.com/5bzs And don't forget to smile for the camera Feel free to track me down on facebook at Kimberly's Abundant Life if you'd like to talk about it.
  5. Surprised you haven't had a ton of answers to this! For any kind of pages: landing, sales, video, thank you....I highly recommend MITS Pages to create, capture and convert. Anything from the simplest page to entire funnels, it's very easy to use (no guessing where to put that retargeting pixel or anything), and there's even a free account. And everthing is hosted for you. Impossible to go wrong at http://mitspages.com/mits/LifestyleKim. If you need an even broader spectrum that includes all the above + entire websites and blogs + video tutorials to walk you through every tiny step, I would recommend you play Dexter...yes, "play" because it's a gamified training system to get you building any kind of page and out there today. (And it's fun!) Especially if you're new to online marketing, you can unleash your inner nerd with Dexter right here: http://lifestyle.kim/does/TechSkills. Feel free to stop by and ask questions...find me on facebook at Kimberly's Abundant Life.
  6. Hi, Lee, I'm surprised dozens of people have answered your "unofficial survey" yet. I think the best mentor is the one you can relate to, but it also depends what kind of guidance you seek. Personally, for all things business/entrepreneurship/success, I find Mark Hoverson brilliant. For anything more specific to advertising, lead generation, and strategies, I'm fortunate to be able to get ahold of Vince Reed's ear. And I don't think you'll boast, but whatever you're doing, I KNOW you can do it! Feel free to stop by and chat at Kimberly's Abundant Life
  7. For a range of quality products, transparent leadership, and a community with vision, I'd recommend Lifestyle Design Network. The product line is designed to enable anyone to create the business and life they desire. If you liked the website aspect of GDI, you'll appreciate that even apprentice members in LDN can build as many websites, blogs, landing pages...whatever they want...inside. The core products are educational (with lots of Mark Hoverson's best work, including the Solomon CEO courses) and there's also a pure-value private vacation club if you like to sell high ticket. The comp plan is extremely generous. Another terrific piece of property out there is My Internet Traffic System. MITS is, centrally, a training platform with coaching and strategies by Vince Reed. All members get regular one-on-one coaching calls; upgraded members have access to Vince Reed multiple times each week - and even have the opportunity to have their ads critiqued by him personally. Vince uses what he teaches; his strategies constantly evolve to stay ahead of the curve; and they've made him 8 figures, so you know they work Despite its training focus, MITS does pay commissions on several levels (its top earner has cleared $100k+). More than happy to talk about either or both. You're welcome to email me, call me, or find me on facebook. Happy hunting! I'm sure you'll be overwhelmed with responses to your original post! 8. I'm surprised that no one mentioned the first thing that needs to be done, and it's ongoing: improve your personal value. What you earn is heavily dependent upon what you know, and what you can offer others. Think in terms of what you can give, not what you can make, and the rest takes care of itself.
  9. In response to your question on facebook groups: My experience is that just posting ads to groups is not very efficient. The "clicks" you get rarely lead to dedicated team members. That said, actually networking in groups that are designed for connecting rather than posting can be quite successful, so look for the ones that don't allow links. For me, the true value of social media is the ability to specifically target people (using the parameters that work for you) and reaching out to build relationships with your chosen audience. My team has been bringing in 100+ people a week using this strategy. Although the sheer number of people you communicate this way is lower, the quality (and conversion) is much greater. Feel free to find me on facebook (where else?) if you'd like to talk more about this. Kimberly http://facebook.com/kimberly.rutherford.77
  10. Hi, Rudi, and thank you for the friend request. Here is a simple answer: stick to an MLM opportunity where the product is of such clear value that it really doesn't matter whether you recruit anyone or not! That way, the comp plan is almost secondary, and it's easier to promote. Here's one of my current favorites - one million banner ads and one million text ads for a one-time $20 payment. It's a great deal even if you didn't then ALSO get $6 for each personal referral and another dollar for everyone in your matrix (even those you didn't refer). I'd be honoured if you'd take a look: Feel free to PM me if you'd like to chat about it.
  11. Your first sentence made me think of this interesting quote: "In the absence of clearly-defined goals, we become strangely loyal to performing daily trivia until ultimately we become enslaved by it."~ Robert Heinlein Easily applicable to IM, isn't it? Working hard, but at what?
  12. Rudi, thank you for the exceptionally articulate, common-sense advice. It instills hope, for which I am grateful. Kimberly Rutherford
  13. Hi, there, Rudi ) It's an interesting question. I'm no expert, by here's my take. When talking to prospects, I just treat them like someone I've met - someone with whom I'd like to be friends. Then conversation comes naturally because I'm not trying to persuade them; I'm just being myself. Often, I do end up making friends, so I've already succeeded, because friendly relations enhance my life. If there happens to be business/profit/whatever later, well, that's just gravy. Besides, you don't seem shy, as you described yourself, or you wouldn't have been able to write such an articulate and thoughtful post! My very best wishes to you.
  14. Daniel, if you mean which TE admin offers the best DLBs...Perry and Linda, hands down.
  15. Paula, if you like to surf one at a time, try Jeff Parker's Fugitive. It's got no timer at all!
  16. I think the constant barrage of new mailers is a good thing. We all enjoy the CTRs when they're new and fresh, and then the cream rises to the top, and the rest fade away. It becomes clear pretty quickly which are "keepers" and which aren't. The difference? I agree with Darren: the owner. It takes an appropriate incentive to keep people opening mails (if I get 10,000 credits to read one mail, how many do you think I'm going to read?) as well as innovations: contests, "fun stuff" to keep members active. I even appreciate the recent wave of affordable lifetime memberships - people are more apt to return to a mailer they've invested in, and dropping prices helps more of us make that investment. I welcome every new mailer with open arms and an open mind )
  17. I think traffic exchanges will always be around...as long as they continue to evolve, and advertising methods hybridize, and the distinctions between TE/mailer/VLB/TAE, etc. get more and more blurred. The internet is a big place; there's room for everyone and everything! This business is fun, as long as you're flexible.
