Brewster Posted September 21, 2018 Report Posted September 21, 2018 I filed my case at the Santa Maria Superior Court the other day. Peterson vs. CreateSpace. I had been publishing and selling books on Amazon through CreateSpace for over 8 years. One day I go to log in and my account won't work. The email I used was so old I no longer used that addressanymore so I had no idea what was going on. Now both of these books were made in Createspace and was assigned an ISBN # by Createspace and the covers were made by there own program and yet they said I was not the author of these books and gave no reason why. I had to open another account just to contact CreateSpace and when I did finally have them call me-the Customer Representative rudely told me I could only address this through the email sent to me. I went back in the email and found my account was suspended for plagiarizing my OWN BOOK. I contact them several times for the message was short and very unclear and in no way was I able to get a conversation going aboutthis matter and before I knew it they close my account and took all my books off Amazon for opening a new account which was the only way to contact them about the old account. When they finally did answer they change the book in question and chose another book of mine. When I got mad that I had gotten no satisfaction, plus I lose over $100.00 in royalties I was very pissed. This started in the middle of August and has not been resolved yet. Anyway, I am taking them to Court, to keep this short, what do you think? Has anyone else had a similar incident with Createspace? Quote
rpsmith Posted September 28, 2018 Report Posted September 28, 2018 Even in small claims court, you will need to have good evidence to present. Otherwise, it may not go well for you. Quote Free Video Chat Service! Get Connected And Stay Connected!Click Here!
mcpuser Posted October 31, 2018 Report Posted October 31, 2018 I hate sites that suspend users' account without reasons. When the users tried to seek explanation, they just ignored and do not reply. This is very bad. Bringing to court is a way to arouse public's awareness and impose penalties on them. Quote

caceytaylor Posted November 20, 2018 Report Posted November 20, 2018 I do not have any experience with CreateSpace however it soundls like you should win. If the content and book is yours than there is no reason they should tamper with it. Seems like there should be more to the story from the business perspective... From what you are describing it sounds like you should win by a landslide. Quote Yarrr, release your inner pirate!
