Muhammad Kiyan Posted Tuesday at 07:46 AM Posted Tuesday at 07:46 AM We're trying out various social media content formats for our scrap metal recycling company and I'm interested in what others have found to be successful. We've seen at Divine Metal Recycling that sometimes, articles about recycling various metals, or offering some basic recycling tips, generate more interaction than basic announcements about services. I just had to ask myself if there is a general preference for educational posts versus promotion posts, particularly for businesses where the product isn't "visual" i.e. not a photo of a car for a car dealership. If you are in charge of social media marketing for your local businesses, which types of content have proven themselves to be effective for you? Which of these types of videos creates more reach and engagement: behind-the-scenes, customer stories, educational posts, or community involvement? I would love to know what works for you and your experiences and what strategies have been successful in the long run. Quote
hamidqalandari Posted Tuesday at 02:30 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:30 PM I've seen the same trend. Educational recycling content usually gets much better engagement than purely promotional posts because people like learning something practical. Simple tips, before-and-after photos, short recycling facts, or explaining the value of different scrap metals often encourage more comments and shares. In my experience, content that helps people solve a problem or understand the recycling process performs much better than posts that are just trying to sell a service. Consistency and useful information seem to make the biggest difference. Muhammad Kiyan 1 Quote
Muhammad Kiyan Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago That's a sensible approach, particularly in terms of not trying to sell someone a service but actually helping them to solve a problem. We've seen that some facts about various metals and the recycling process can also lead to more relevant discussions. I agree that consistency is probably as important as the type of content. Do you think short videos are more effective than text or image education posts? Quote
Contesthelper90 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago In my experience, educational content usually gets better engagement because it provides value and builds trust. Mixing educational posts with customer stories and behind-the-scenes content keeps the audience interested while promoting the business naturally. Quote
