Microsoft published a study (2015) reporting the average adult attention span in 2013 to be 8 seconds; this was far less than the 12 seconds measured by Microsoft in 2000. Whether this study lacked rigor, was peer-reviewed, or included bias is irrelevant - it is not presumptive to allege our attention spans have become shortened due to the new digital age. If this is true, (and I believe it's even shorter than that), Then what techniques are you using to grab people's attention within the 8 second window?

I have over 2000 followers. I tweet an occasional new program, but the results are not great. I have better results with LinkedIn.

What is your favorite place to blog?
market101 replied to Paula Frye's topic in Content Writing and Blogging
This is my favorite place. http://emotions-are-stronger-than-intellect.blogspot.com -
This is not rocket science. Want to get along with people and maybe even influence them? Treat everyone with respect.

This is why I believe in belonging to multiple programs. You never know what will happen to any one program or any one payment processor.

I always send a welcoming letter. I do not think of my contacts as customers. I view them as potential friends. I offer to help them. I send encouraging follow-ups. I do not spam them with daily emails. Just remember how you want to be treated. Especially when you were a newbie!

Who is making all of the money?
market101 replied to market101's topic in Affiliate/MLM/Network Marketing
I have been networking for over 20 years and have seen my share of scams. I have lost money. I have made money. Over $250,000 in one MLM. I am suggesting to you that the people who make the most money are the ones who take the time and put in the effort and the money to run their own programs. I applaud them. It is hard work and requires dedication and patience. -
Don't spend a lot of money until you get a feel for the difference between scams and honest opportunities. Join free programs and try them out.

As I always like to quote: "Emotions Are Stronger Than Intellect" [Jerry Levine] So, if you are not happy with people who are always complaining and giving up after a short period of time, there is an answer. When people downline from me complain about a new person who is not growing, even after repeated help and training, Here is the answer. SPONSOR A NEW PERSON! That's always the answer. Sooner or later you will find a go-getter and that's really exciting.

I'm not addicted yet. I do have one question though. Do zubees last forever or do they disappear if you don't use them within a certain time frame? Thanks.

I am not happy with text ad results. I think most people, when given a choice, will pick a picture. Also of interest, I wonder how long most people will watch a video? Do you prefer this: Grab THis New Mega Hits Program Or this: http://1profitring.com/125.gif

Who is making all of the money?
market101 replied to market101's topic in Affiliate/MLM/Network Marketing
I think it is the site owners. And that's how it should be. They are the ones who put in the time and the money! -
Good topic. I like Paypal, but obviously they are in the process of changing the rules. I suppose Payza will fill the gap. Although many of us have been burned by Payza in the past, I am willing to give them another shot.

Hi Tommie, Yes I did get to meet Bill Britt and Dexter Yager and Rich DeVos and a bunch of other great leaders. One interesting note: One of the people I sponsored hit the Diamond level in 2 yrs. He grew so fast he didn't have time to do meetings for his new people, so I spent a bunch of time doing meetings in his downline. Of course they were my downline too. But, as you know, it is very difficult to find people who will put in the time and effort to hit the Direct level. Like you I learned a lot from the Amway leaders at the corp level as well as from my upline. The amount of help was phenomenal.

I think Robert is correct. Your marketing skills are more important than which MLM you are interested in. You also have to realize that it may take you a long time to build your MLM business. For instance, it took me 2 years to reach the Emerald level in the Amway biz. Was it worth it? YES. That was over 20 years ago and I'm still receiving thousands of dollars a year for the effort I put in way back then. But, it's not quick and it's not easy.

I find it very interesting that there are so many people joining teams in Zubee Zone. I admit I do not know very much about zubees. It certainly seems wide-spread. I wonder if a better use of my time is just to keep advertising on safelists, TEs, etc. ???

How do you prefer to build websites/services?
market101 replied to Matt Koshko's topic in Techniques & Strategies
Which ever method you prefer when building your sites, remember this one thing: The person viewing your site for the first time is looking at it from two basic perspectives. The conscious level (what will this site do for me? Is it just hype? Can I trust this admin?) and the subconscious level (the emotional level). Or said in a more memorable way: "Emotions Are Stronger Than Intellect" [Jerry Levine] -
If the goal is to get people to click on your site, then you have to get their attention. Even people who are just clicking for credits will stop and read something that is interesting to them if it grabs their attention. How much attention span do people have? We're all different, but in general it's pretty short. So, if you only have a short time to make your case, that means a catchy subject line, followed by an attention-getting visual aid. That's where the splash page comes in handy. You may or may not have one more chance to get them to explore your site a little further and that would be a short video presentation.

Do zubees keep adding up forever, or do you lose them if they are not used within a certain time frame?

"If we can keep our competitors focused on us while we stay focused on the customer, ultimately we’ll turn out all right.” ― Jeff Bezos In a consumer driven market, poor customer service can and will kill your business. It’s a proven fact that 86% of people have quit or stopped doing business with companies after having a bad customer experience. That’s up almost 59% from 4 years ago. It’s also said that those who have a positive customer experience go on to tell an average of 4 to 6 people about it. Those who have a negative customer experience will tell 9 to 15 people! It takes 12 positive experiences to make up for 1 bad one. There have been case study after case study done on this because customer support and customer retention is a massive part of successful businesses. [Janelle Pineau]
