Firefox starting all by itself

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I know I have written about this before, but it is still doing it. I am happily working way on my machine using Google Chrome and then all of a sudden Firefox fires up and shows me some page or other.

Anyone know where I can find this lurking and how I can kill it?

Best regards and looking forward to hearing from you soon, John.

Hi there!

Well, I have been using Firefox a little, but as it is getting quite annoying, I might just uninstall it, Darren. However, as Garrett suggests, I will note down the site that fires up to see if is is always the same one. I really had not taken notice of this as I have just been closing Firefox when it opens by itself.

Thanks for the feedback you guys and I will let you know what I come up with.

Have a grand day, John.

I would run spybot followed by ccleaner.  Both applications are free and you can find them through google.com search.  Often times, when your browser start by itself...some app has been installed and runs in your browser to show you these sites.  If you like you can inbox me here and I can send you some more links or help you out personally.  I operating my own pc support service online.  Glad to help.

I am in agreement with the others, it looks like you have some sort of malware.  A good anti-virus program should get you fixed up!

Install Norton Internet Security and your problem will be solved, you have 30-day Trial.

I'm using Bitdefender Internet Security from 10 year ago and I have no problem with my system!

I have a different take,  Go to the right corner open that menu and go to history, and clear History. You can clear all history or recent and so on.

All the website that you showed are to a Financial binary system.

Give it a try first and let us know.

Do what Darren said and delete it from your computer. It should solve your problem. Let us know if you still get these pop ups.

I have had these types of problems in the past. I use the GeekSquad from Best Buy. What they did was to remove FireFox and reinstall a clean copy of it. This reset my FireFox and stopped my problems.

FireFox now has built into it a process similar to SafeMode in Windows, which allows you to start FireFox with no attachments so you can try to track what caused your problem.

I use FireFox for almost everything I do on the internet and I consider it better than all the other browsers

I haven't had that happen. But Darren is right, uninstall it if yo don't need it.
