I receive several thousand emails each day. Without a good system of labels and filters, this would be unmanageable!

Ssssshhh, don't tell anyone, but the 72 hour thing doesn't work anyway - I certianly don't post every 72 hours, and I'm still here ;-)

Earn 250 Mailing Points Per Post! Plus more updates.
Margot Lawrence replied to Darren Olander's topic in For Starters
There seem to be plenty of people posting on this site, but still not many using the mailer. I wonder why... -
Usually the pre-Christmas recruitment season starts around mid-September, but with both my main offline business (Avon) and my main online business (AIOP) I've been getting plenty of interest in the last few weeks, far more than I'd normally expect to see at a time of year that is usually pretty dead for recruiting. Anyone else seeing this?

In mailers where apostrophes and quotation marks cause problems, I've found that using the backtick ` character instead works perfectly and is virtually indistinguishable from an apostrophe or single quote. On a standard UK keyboard, the backtick is to the left of the 1, above the tab key - users of other keyboards will have to Google for it!

I like the newsletter coming by email - a useful reminder, and I would probably forget to log in to look for it so if you decide to put it on the site please continue to send by email as well!

Avoid Twice Confirmed Traffic At All Cost
Margot Lawrence replied to a topic in Scams, Rip-offs, and More
Some of the people who were promoting USA Lead Club and all its previous incarnations are now promoting something called Organic Prospects - same scam, different name? -
One of my goals is to be able to pay someone to do the grunt work for me - a couple of hours a day just surfing and clicking emails.

Is Pennies 4 Profits a scam?
Margot Lawrence replied to Thomas H. Keoppel's topic in Scams, Rip-offs, and More
Not necessarily generating any clicks at all - just reporting fake results :-(- 20 replies

It depends on what I have to do/am able to do in my main offline business - I have health problems, so sometimes I'm not able to go out much, which means spending more time online. Probably an average of 5 hours a day online, but not all of that is 'work' - though with the help of tabbed browsing, I can be surfing several sites at the same time as catching up with Facebook!

Shout-out to all the safelist owners
Margot Lawrence replied to Joel's topic in Safelists, Mailers, Autoresponders
Many sites run on the same script, but of course with different owners. If you're experiencing identical problems with several sites, please let the owners know the other sites that are affected - it might be a problem with the script rather than something that the owner can fix. -
I dislike the ones where I've paid for an upgrade and then find that it's impossible to actually mail to the maximum limit of my upgrade - for example, if my upgrade allows me to mail up to 3000 every 3 days, but I only earn 10 credits for each mail that I click and I only receive 5 mails per day...
-
I was an upgraded member at TER, and then I started getting duplicated messages from them. At first, just a trickle, but when it reached more than 10 identical messages inside an hour I contacted Joe to let him know about the problem. Any normal owner would have thanked me for the bug report and got it fixed, but not Joe - he rather rudely told me that the mailer was outside his control, and then suspended my account! Now I'm no longer getting the spammy emails, but I'm not getting the service that I paid for either - NOT a great way to treat a paying customer :-(

I might be a little more tolerant of errors in forum posts, but I do expect perfect spelling and grammar in email ads and on website pages. When I see errors, alarm bellls start ringing. Scammers often deliberately insert errors into their emails and websites so that people who spot those errors won't sign up - the people the scammers really want are those who won't spot that it's a scam until too late! So, if you don't want to look like a scammer, get a proofreader if you can afford one, or at least use your spellchecker.

Expired credit links before their time?
Margot Lawrence replied to Joel's topic in Safelists, Mailers, Autoresponders
I wonder if the ones that appear to have expired before their time are ones that the senders have deleted from their own mailing history before the 96 hours? I've always wondered if that might happen, so although I like my mailing history clutter-free I always leave the mails at least 96 hours before deleting. -
Not sure why you'd want to go to Windows 7 - Windows 8 has been around for a while, and Windows 10 is going to be available at the end of July. If you're in a hurry to get a new computer, get one with Windows 8 and make sure it is capable of running Windows 10 as you should be able to get a free upgrade to 10 when it is released. Although (as you might deduce from my picture!) I personally wouldn't use Windows at all for running a business - as you've found, it is too vulnerable to infections. All the computers on my network run Mageia 4 Linux (soon to be upgraded to Mageia 5) except for our tablet which runs Android.

Popups in traffic exchanges?
Margot Lawrence replied to Darren Olander's topic in PTC & Traffic Exchanges
Exit pop-ups are a mark of desperation - if you can't sell your product/service with your main sales page, either it's a product/service that nobody wants or it's a badly-designed sales page. Ads where the landing page has exit pop-ups are banned on all my TAE sites. -
Earn 250 Mailing Points Per Post! Plus more updates.
Margot Lawrence replied to Darren Olander's topic in For Starters
Thank you, Darren. Since the change to having to post something before sending out a mail may people seem to have dropped out and there have been far fewer mails arriving, making it very difficult to earn enough points to actually send out a worthwhile mailing. I've seen more mails arriving since you introduced the 250 points, so I guess the 'bribe' is working! -

Twice Confirmed Traffic?
Margot Lawrence replied to Jerry Iannucci's topic in Scams, Rip-offs, and More
Thinking of banning ads for all of these from my TAEs - I don't want my members being conned into paying for lousy traffic when they can get GOOD traffic from other sources at much lower cost or even free.
